This system allows NLMC to capture high resolution newborn footprints which can be utilized for precise identification in situations like an infant abduction, lost baby, or natural disaster. Digital footprints are stored efficiently in the infant’s electronic medical record. Like finger prints, foot prints are biometric, unique to each baby, and are available for use for identification throughout a lifetime.
NLMC was the first hospital in the state of Louisiana to provide this innovative service.
